The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education is a comprehensive, 54 CQF (Cambodian Qualification Framework) credit program designed to cultivate advanced scholars, institutional leaders, and educational policy innovators. Building upon the foundational knowledge of a master’s degree, this three-year doctoral journey provides a rigorous progression from advanced theoretical mastery to independent empirical research.

The curriculum is purposefully structured across three distinct phases to ensure graduates are well-equipped to drive strategic initiatives, manage quality assurance, and make significant scholarly contributions to the global education sector:

Year 1: Educational Leadership & Foundations: Candidates explore critical domains of educational management and policy. This includes deep engagement with educational philosophy, administrative principles, learning assessment trends, international comparative education, and strategic planning, ensuring a robust understanding of institutional leadership and quality assurance frameworks.

Year 2: Research Mastery: The focus shifts entirely to research preparation. Scholars are equipped with advanced quantitative and qualitative methodologies and statistical analysis tools, culminating in the development and formal defense of a robust research proposal.

Year 3: Original Contribution: The final year is dedicated to the execution of a comprehensive 60, 000-word PhD dissertation. Candidates work independently to produce high-impact, original research that advances educational practices, transnational education management, or institutional frameworks.
